Dunbar Park, Avalon Beach
From concept to project delivery, our work at Dunbar Park Reserve playground is a strong example of our technical and creative capabilities. With two custom adventure play structures to suit both junior and senior play levels, two bay timber swing, echidna springer, and nature play trail, our design made effective use of the space and met the brief by offering a diverse range of play opportunities.
As a part of Council’s brief, we were able integrate a mixture of materials in the space, with a focus on natural materials. In particular, we were able to make a combination nature play trail, which includes log steppers, horizontal logs and stepping stones, to suit the space. This trail not only added interest and play value, but was designed to connect with existing pathways and circulation through the whole site.
In addition to the range of play equipment included in this space, we included engravings completed by our in-house artists on the timber totems and sandstone steppers as a creative, discovery element in the play space. The feedback from the Council and the community has been consistently positive.
